From abandoned child to Oscar nominee–to her beef with Jenny from the Block–Rosie Perez’s life has proven to be anything but ordinary. Tonight at 7:30pm, the Brooklyn resident is staying local for a free reading at St. Joseph’s College of her new memoir Handbook for an Unpredictable Life: How I Survived Sister Renata and My Crazy Mother, and Still Came Out Smiling (With Great Hair). The title speaks for itself, but hear Perez recount her life stories in her own words, during a conversation with New Yorker staff writer Hilton Als, as part of the Brooklyn Voices series conducted by the college in partnership with Greenlight Bookstore.
