Rough Trade only opened its Brooklyn outpost in November, but the English music import is quickly becoming a mainstay in Williamsburg’s music scene. From now through March 29, Rough Trade is presenting the world’s largest modern Moog installation, a 25-day residency program devoted to sound experimentation with analog synthesizers. Some of Brooklyn’s best electronic musicians will be stopping by all month, and synth enthusiasts are welcome as well, to turn the knobs and push the pedals on 10 voice polyphonic analog synth, six voice Minimoog drum synth and over 50 analog effects boxes available everyday from 11am to 11pm. Record free samples from any of the showcases, including a set by Kiran Gandhi, MIA’s drummer, on March 20 and an appearance by Anna Barie of These Are Powers on a date that’s still TBA.
