Lest the name fool you, Balthrop, Alabama is actually a small town band based in Brooklyn. Built around the songs of Alabama-born siblings, Pascal and Lauren Balthrop, the band sings stories about “love, dead people and dead people in love.” Together with artist Michael Arthur, who illustrates the band’s music in pen and ink in real-time, the band will be performing with Arthur’s live projected drawings at BRIC House on April 8 at 7pm. The free show is part of BRIC’s Stoop Series events, which illuminate the arts and life in Brooklyn through artistic performances, presentations and conversations.
