If you haven’t heard of The Idan Raichel Project, you’re probably not from Israel. Singer/songwriter Raichel, voted Israel’s Musician of the Decade, assembled this cross-cultural ensemble of outstanding Yemenite, Arab, African, and Caribbean musicians. Billboard magazine called The Idan Raichel Project a “multi-ethnic tour de force,” and Jon Pareles of The New York Times chose their debut album as one of the best world music releases of the year. The Idan Raichel Project will be performing their spectacular live show on May 6 at Park Slope’s Congregation Beth Elohim, as part of Israel Independence Day BKLYN. Brooklyn Based subscribers are invited to use the code “BBASED” for $5 off admission–see you there!
