We’ve been looking for a reason to return to the Made in NY Media Center by IFP since we wrote about its opening last October, and it looks like this Sunday’s screening of a pair of documentaries as part of BKLYN Designs is it. Whether you’re planning to head to St. Ann’s Warehouse to check out some of the local design work being showcased all weekend or not, make sure to stop by the center at 1:30pm for a free viewing of Between The Folds. The hour-long documentary follows 10 people who turn their backs on the professional worlds of fine art and theoretical science to become paper folders, proving there is more to origami than paper cranes. At 3:30pm IFP is screening Objectified, a feature-length documentary any design junkie will want to see. It explores the creative process of some of today’s most influential product designers, like Jonathan Ive (Apple) and Dieter Rams (Braun). If you want to see what goes into creating everything from toothbrushes to tech gadgets, we suggest you get there early to snag a seat.
