If you’ve ever wanted to get in a bidding war over a bust of JFK or set of souvenir state plates, head to the Manhattan Inn in Greenpoint on Sunday afternoon for the first Brooklyn Auction Barn sale of the season. It’s the only live, affordable auction of its kind in BK, and offers anyone a chance to wave a paddle in the air in an attempt to outbid perfect strangers for antique furniture, lighting, home decor and collectibles, with opening bids reasonably set between $5 and $100. Admission is free for the auction itself, which starts at 5pm, but we suggest arriving early to preview everything at 4:30pm before it goes up on the auction block.
