Tomorrow, instead of sitting out the cold in your PJs, come to The Landing at Industry City from 1-3pm, Saturday, Feb. 13 for free small bites and chocolate, and to hear the Prohibition-era classics of street jazz band, Baby Soda Jazz Band, plus the award-winning sounds of pop-rock string quartet, Tribute String Quartet.
Baby Soda is on the forefront of a new movement loosely known as street jazz, with an eclectic set of influences ranging from 30’s era swing & New Orleans jazz, to southern gospel.
Tribute String Quartet has found praise from none other than pop legends A-ha for their cover of “Take On Me,” and its musicians have recently performed in the bands of D’Angelo and Björk, as well as Carnegie Hall’s Tribute to Bill Withers.
The Winter Flea and Smorgasburg will be happening right across the courtyard from The Bootlegger’s Tea Party. The showcase is one of the many we’re producing with Lucy Music as part of Wedding Crashers, to make it easy to find the best band to soundtrack your wedding. But you don’t have to be engaged to enjoy the show–everyone is invited. So build a break into your shopping for live jazz, swing and instrumental pop at the brand-new Landing at Industry City, run by the team behind The Bell House and Union Hall. There will be free light bites and complimentary BarkTHINS for snacking. You just need to RSVP here for free admission.
