Brooklyn Arts Council Celebrates 50 Years With Affordable Art Sale, Party in Dumbo

Boost the arts in Brooklyn and find some affordable art for your own walls or a friend’s at the Brooklyn Arts Council’s annual art sale and holiday party in Dumbo. There will be snacks, cocktails, and the opportunity to purchase paintings, photographs, drawings, prints, and mixed-media works from Brooklyn artists for $350.

All the art is donated, and sales will benefit the Brooklyn Arts Council’s efforts to support local artists. The nonprofit celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

The Brooklyn Arts Council has spent the last half century producing arts programming, arts education and artist services.

“As an artist and long-time fundraising professional for Brooklyn arts nonprofits, I appreciate the value of giving back to the community as much as I take from it,” said Brooklyn-based multimedia artist Michael Hambouz in a prepared statement. “Without the support of artists, the opportunities for us professionally, and as viewers of incredible programming, would simply cease to exist.”

His nine-color screenprint, “Use Your Illusion IV,” published and printed by Brooklyn’s Kayrock Screenprinting, is one of many limited edition prints for sale at AccessArt.
