If it feels a little depressing to drape yourself in stars and stripes and celebrate the current state of the USA on this particular Fourth of July weekend, you can instead cheer on our neighbors to the north, who have managed to elect a sane, competent person to run their country. It’s Canada’s 150th year of existence, and The Well is throwing an epic Canada Day party to mark the occasion from noon to 3am on Saturday. There will be music, games, drinks, food, Canadian whiskey and beer, Mile End poutine, and presumably lots of people wearing maple leaf paraphernalia and pronouncing it “aboot.” Entrance to Canada D’eh (get it?) is free with RSVP.
