Monday is book night in Brooklyn

Monday night brings with it two literary events that are guaranteed to juice up your summer reading routine. First up: Books Beneath the Bridge is back at Brooklyn Bridge Park in DUMBO, and this particular installment features a poetry salon curated by Greenlight Bookstore. Starting at 7pm, featured poets t’ai freedom ford, Phillip B. Williams, Kevin Coval, Charif Shanahan, and Patricia Smith will be sharing and discussing their work on the Granite Prospect steps, and the event is free to attend. Meanwhile, across town, Cobble Hill newcomer Books Are Magic is hosting a Fierce Women in Fiction panel at 7:30pm with a slate of awesome female writers including Karen Rinaldi (The End of Men), Sarah Gerard (Sunshine State), Camille Perri (The Assistants), and Tanwi Nandini Islam (Bright Lines).
