If you haven’t been out to Governors Island yet this summer, you should consider making the short ferry ride this weekend, when the 7th Annual NYC Poetry Festival will bring over 250 poets to perform in Nolan Park. From 11am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, there will be appearances by luminaries like Aja Money, Sapphire, Deborah Landau, and Patrick Phillips, as well as pop ups selling books, crafts, food, beer and wine. poetry-inspired installation, and a Children’s Festival. It’s all totally free, so there’s really no excuse to miss this opportunity to inject some outdoor time and culture into your lazy Sunday.
