Homebrewers from all over the city will be offering their creations to the masses, and competing for prizes, on Sunday afternoon at The Brooklyn Homebrew Takedown. The event takes place from 1-3pm at Hill Country BBQ in Downtown Brooklyn, and for the $25 ticket you get to sample all the brews and vote on your fave. Meanwhile, as you’ve probably heard by now, Prospect Heights’ beloved Franny’s is shutting its doors for good after 14 years, but at least they are going out with an awesome closing party this Sunday evening. Toast the end of an era with wine, passed hors d’oeuvres, and of course pizza. You can reserve a two-hour long time slots (from 5-7 or 7-9pm) for $40, which covers everything except liquor.
