Mummy movie at the museum

By

On Thursday night, get in the Halloween spirit a few weeks ahead of time by catching a special screening of The Mummy (no, not the Brendan Fraser one) at Brooklyn Museum. The 1932 horror flick from director Karl Freund and starring Boris Karloff is a cult classic that inspired the countless mummy films that followed it, and you can watch the creepy plot unfold just steps away from the museum’s Egyptian art collection. The screening starts at 7pm and costs $16, but if you’re willing to part with an additional $9, you can experience a tour of the museum’s current animal mummies exhibit with curator Ed Bleiberg immediately afterwards.
