A beauty pageant for transit nerds

By

This sounds weird and kind of awesome: On Thursday night, The City Reliquary Museum will host the 2017 Miss Subways Extravaganza, a pageant-style competition (open to all genders) that gives MTA enthusiasts the opportunity to showcase their love for their favorite subway line for a panel of local celebrity judges like Janeane Garofalo, Roger Clark, and Reverend Jen Miller. The goal is to go home with the illustrious “transit tiara,” and competitors will attempt to do so by performing live tributes to their preferred train through song, dance, poetry, or any other talent in their arsenal. Tickets start at $20, with proceeds to benefit The City Reliquary and the Riders Alliance, and there will be beer available.
