A pop-up market of American-made crafts and the return of Kurt Braunohler

By

One of my favorite things about late fall and the beginnings of the holiday season in Brooklyn is the abundance of pop-up markets selling crafty, indie items that make for some really great presents for your friends and family (or yourself). I hate to say it, but as someone who semi-obsessively scouts these things out every year, I am of the firm opinion that some are undeniably better than others, and the American Field Market, which returns to Industry City this weekend, is definitely in the “good” camp.

A curated selection of handcrafted, American-made clothing, jewelry, bags, accessories, food, and booze will be available to peruse and purchase from 11am-6pm on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday evening if you’re still in the neighborhood, swing by Littlefield for the return of comedian Kurt Braunohler, who used to emcee the weekly Night Train comedy show there with Kristen Schaal before the both left Brooklyn for LA several years back. Kurt Braunohler and Friends (if he still has any) will include performances by Wyatt Cenac and Lauren Cook, and we’re guessing there may be a few special guests in the mix. Tickets are $12 each and the show starts at 8pm.
