Sure, you’ve probably had the time of your life at Tompkins Square Park during the Halloween Dog Parade, or enjoyed a handful of delightfully drunken nights all up an down Avenue C, but how much have you really experienced of Alphabet City?

The Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space hopes to broaden people’s relationship with the stretch of space, providing weekend walking tours with Alphabet City residents. These 2 hour tours weave through history-laden gardens and squats, and tell stories of various hippies and anarchists that are essential to the legacy of Alphabet City. Being an informed resident of this incredible city you call home can be super fun sometimes, huh? Tickets for the tour, which starts at 3 pm at 155 Avenue C, are $20.
