In general, I love the idea of Good Riddance Day, an annual pre-NYE tradition that lets people say sayonara to any weighty baggage from the twelve months prior by literally pulverizing their unwanted memories in a giant shredder parked in Times Square, but for various reasons 2017 feels especially ripe for the taking here. If you’re free between noon and 1pm on Thursday, swing by with anything you’d like to leave behind as you embark on a fresh (and hopefully much better start) to 2018. Later on, you can celebrate your newly unencumbered self at House of YES’ Dirty Thursday Ugly Sweater Party, which starts at 10pm and runs all night. Admission is free, and you might even get some free drinks if your holiday look is hideous enough to stand out.
