An Alternative Midnight Mass

By

A while back, we reported on alternative churches in Brooklyn–too far back to include the relatively new Lutheran ministry, Park Church Co-op, led by Pastor Amy Kienzle, who says of herself, “Having not grown up in the church, I have a love/hate relationship with traditional churchy stuff. I love good worship and organ music, but am disheartened at the way the church has not made others feel welcome and valued.”  Further proof that this congregation is more open-minded than most is the fact that their Midnight Mass service will be performed by the a group of indie rockers called the Kings County MicroKORG Choir and is promoted with a poster featuring a kitten. If you’re searching for something a little more meaningful on Christmas Eve than baking cookies for Santa, this is it. 11pm-12am, 129 Russel St., Greenpoint, Free.
