Sundays are for getting lost in fictional worlds. Who said that? We did! There’s an excellent lineup of readings at Bowery Poetry Club that you should definitely take advantage of this weekend. Start with the series Why There Are Words at 6pm. It features a wide arrange of poets and essayists, from Marcia Butler to Cal Freeman, and costs $10 at the door.
Afterwards, if you’re feeling inspired (and you probably will be), there’s an poetry open mic hosted by Mason Granger. It’s $10 at the door, all ages, and probably in-line with a resolution you may or may not have made about trusting your creativity and doing one thing that scares you.
