Target First Saturdays Celebrates Black History Month

By

It’s the first Saturday of a new month, and that means that Target First Saturdays is back at the Brooklyn Museum. This month the evening of multidisciplinary arts and entertainment programming is focused on Black History Month. Highlights from this particular installment include live musical performances from Aaron Abernathy, The Skins, Everyday People, and Latasha Alcindor; panel discussions on Basquiat and Malcolm X in Brooklyn; a screening and talk with the directors of Whose Streets?, a film about the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri; a performance by the Brooklyn Dance Festival, and more. As always, admission is free (drinks and food are available for purchase) and the schedule of events runs from 5pm on.
