Booze, tunes, and food

Class up your garden variety Saturday day drinking session this week by heading to the Brooklyn Expo Center for the Brooklyn Craft Spirits Fest. Tickets to either the 2pm or 6:30pm session will run you $70 each, but that includes unlimited samples of over 100 styles of spirits, from moonshine to mezcal, as well as live music and guaranteed good times. If you’re still standing when that’s over, you might want to consider a special Valentine’s Day concert, Songs Full of Heart, at Brooklyn Music School at 5pm. Just $5, the show features the school’s talented vocalists singing classic love ballads from Sting, Adele, and Billy Joel. And, to cap off an active day, head up to Sunset Park for a four-course, BYOB pop-up dinner at Purple Kale Kitchenworks Studio. I’ve been to one of these before, and it was a delicious meal at a long communal table where I met a ton of fun new people, so if you’re feeling lonely as Valentine’s Day approaches, this might be a nice way to spend your Saturday night. Tickets are $65.
