A Piano Trio and a Killer at Large

By

On Wednesday, February 28, Brooklyn-based piano trio Bearthoven is performing their latest major NYC concert, entitled “New Works,” at Roulette at 8pm. The group, which consists of Karl Larson on piano, Pat Swoboda on bass, and Matt Evans on percussion, will be playing four new pieces that they commissioned for the 2017-18 season from leading contemporary composers Shelley Washington, Kristina Wolfe, Adam Roberts, and Scott Wollschleger. Tickets are just $20, which is a steal for the opportunity to see live music of this caliber performed in the middle of the week right in your hood.

I mentioned it in a previous edition of Ideal Week, but there are also still tickets available to see comedian Patton Oswalt present I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, the posthumously-released book by his late wife, the great crime writer and journalist Michelle McNamara, chronicling her search for the diabolical Golden State Killer. Oswalt will be at St. Ann & The Holy Trinity at 7:30pm and your $35 ticket includes a copy of the book signed by him.
