Romance novels have always gotten the rather shitty end of the stick. If you’re like me, you probably remember glancing over at Danielle Steele novels at the corner of your eye at the local library when you were in middle school or high school and being all like “ooh.” Or letting forth an evil cackle as you read reviews for the Fifty Shades trilogy. But the times are changing, and romance genre writing is keeping up. On Monday, February 26, the Strand is hosting Let Women-Splain Romance, a panel featuring the foremost female romance writers in the now-feminist genre. The panel starts at 7pm in the Rare Book Room, and tickets are $15.
