Find hidden gems at The Morgan Library and David Zwirner

I feel like we normally leave our art-ing around for the weekend, but who says we can’t sneak a little culture in on a Tuesday? There are two excellent shows that should currently be on your radar, and there’s no better way to avoid a crowd than by going on a quiet weekday afternoon. One is Peter Hujar: Speed of Life at the Morgan Library—a show from one of New York City’s most quintessential photographers. Speed of Life features over 140 of Hujar’s photographs, most notably of the AIDS crisis of the 1980s. Another is Dan Flavin’s in daylight or cool white at David Zwirner, focusing on his fluorescent light works from the 1960s. Enjoy two very different mediums, and one very delightful afternoon.
