Eggs for breakfast, bugs for dinner

Send March packing and welcome Spring with a trip out to the beach on Saturday morning. Coney Island Brewery will start your weekend off right on March 31 with a fully catered breakfast and beer cocktails like a “lemonade mermosa” served from 11am-1pm. Tickets to Kegs n’ Eggs will run you $25, but go easy on the food if you want to enjoy that ride on the Cyclone afterwards. Speaking of strong stomachs, the New York Adventure Club and Chef Joseph Yoon of Brooklyn Bugs are hosting a culinary event designed to introduce you to the world of edible insects on Saturday night from 8-11pm. With a $50 ticket, you’ll get to taste six different dishes featuring protein-rich bugs, like grilled cheese & cricket bites and chapulines popcorn, with the option to buy beer and wine pairings, all in the unique setting of the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Odditorium, which houses (among other things) a variety of shrunken heads and 19-foot tall albino giraffe.
