A beer breakfast, canoe trip, and dinner at the Grange

By

There’s a lot going on this Saturday, starting with a fun early beer event at one of my fave bars in the city, Spuyten Duyvil, featuring delicious libations from Oxbow, an awesome brewery near where my family lives in Maine. Goods from the Garden starts at 11am, and a $25 ticket gets you admission, 4 drinks tickets, and a special souvenir glass.

Once you’re good and loose, head over to the North Brooklyn Boat Club for a Public Paddle celebration, with free canoe tours and food and drink for sale, from 12-4pm. (It’s one of the free  activities in our roundup of this summer’s outdoor adventures and yoga classes.)

Hose yourself off and get gussied up for a dinner to celebrate spring and raise money for City Growers, a cool nonprofit that is sending 15 low-income kids from the city to summer camp, on the roof of the Brooklyn Grange. Dinner includes a cocktail hour and multi-course meal featuring prime cuts of sustainably, ethically raised beef and lamb, wine and beer, spring-focused veggie sides, and dessert. Tickets are $125 each, and drinks start at 6pm.
