On Monday night, head to BAMcinemaFest for the New York premiere of Leave No Trace, the first movie from director Debra Granik since 2000’s dark and disturbing Winter’s Bone, which featured a breakout performance from a then-unknown Jennifer Lawrence. This film also explores the daily life of a young girl on the margins of American society, in this case a teenager who lives off the grid in Oregon with her dad (Ben Foster), a veteran struggling with PTSD, and it has an 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s also one of the films we loved at this year’s festival. The screening starts at 7:30 and is followed by a Q&A with Granik and Foster; tickets are $30.
