Monday evening’s installment of Books Beneath the Bridge, the annual summer reading series in Brooklyn Bridge Park, is sponsored by Books Are Magic and features two very funny literary ladies: Sloane Crosley and Franchesca Ramsey. Crosley is best known for I Was Told There’d Be Cake, which won a slew of awards and accolades, and she has a new book of essays, Look Alive Out There, which was released this spring. You might recognize Ramsey’s name from her viral YouTube video from 2012, “Sh*t White Girls Say. . . to Black Girls”—on Monday she’ll be discussing her book entitled Well, That Escalated QuicklyThe event is free and starts at 7pm.
