I might get a little weird about revealing my ever-increasing age to my 20-something coworkers, but one thing I am NOT shy about is my love for 80s music, so I’ve been looking forward to the Lost 80s Live happening at the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island this Friday night, August 3, basically all summer. The lineup is gonna get any Reagan-era MTV junkies fired up, and features Flock of Seagulls, When In Rome, Wang Chung, Nu Shooz, and more classic musical acts from the decade of excess. Is it worth a ride out to the end of the subway line to see The Promise performed live, followed by fireworks on the boardwalk? To me, it’s a no brainer, but it certainly helps that tickets start at $20. Grab some of your fave valley girls and bodacious dudes and treat yourselves to a dose of some pure nostalgia and high-octane cheesiness. And read our August concert picks for more shows to pencil in this month.
