Monday night in Brooklyn is Comedy Central

By

Starting the week off with some live comedy is never a bad idea, and this Monday night, August 6,  you’ve got options. At Union Hall, native New Yorkers Ilana Michelle Rubin and Lana Schwartz are hosting their monthly My Hometown show, where they grill fellow comedians about the more traditional places they grew up in. This month’s guests include Yaari Nadav Tal, Jourdain Searles, Lorelei Ramirez, Catherine Cohen, Tim Platt, and Anya Volz. The show starts at 8 and tickets are a mere $6. Meanwhile, a few blocks Canal-ward, you can see Butterboy, the weekly standup showcase brought to you by Aparna Nancherla, Jo Firestone, and Maeve Higgins, at Littlefield starting at 8. I never miss a chance to see the hilarious Jon Glaser perform live, and he’ll be joined this week by Marcella Arguello, Casey Ley, Nina Tarr, Jordan Carlos, Simeon Goodson, and Yedoye Travis. Tickets are $8 if you buy them in advance.
