Dumbo’s eminently Instagrammable annual freight container photography exhibition, Photoville, reopens this week for the final days of its run, Thursday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 23. The exhibits contain the work of more than 600 artists, many of whom take part in day and nighttime programming like an evening with National Geographic photographers discussing their focus this year on race and diversity. With that subject matter in mind, be sure to visit the Lit List container exhibit. Brooklyn Based pal Kelly Marshall was among the photographers who won this inaugural contest highlighting 30 photographers of color and other underrepresented working artists. Her submission, below, is a portrait of Linda Jones, a post-partum doula and birth activist based in Oakland, CA, who is part of Marshall’s groundbreaking series, “Birth,” documenting women of color in the birth industry.
