Greenlight is hosting a night with two terrific writers on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Andre Dubus III—whose last name I once pronounced “Dew-Bus” in a creative writing class, and then wished I could disappear into thin air when the instructor politely corrected me (it’s “duh-BYOOSE”)—is out with his first novel in 10 years, aptly named Gone So Long. He will be reading passages from it and talking about the book with the wonderful, Pulitzer-prize winning Elizabeth Strout, who knows a thing about multi-generational storytelling herself. The evening begins at 7:30pm, but arrive early for a seat, or just a spot in the door.
