When elephants fly

By

On Friday night, swing by DUMBO on your way home from work for the second annual Washington Street Block Party, which features, among other highlights, the reprisal of the The Great #DUMBODrop, a decidedly weird but pretty damn cute tradition that involves thousands of tiny elephant figurines with parachutes being tossed from the rooftops above at 6pm sharp (NB: bring a camera, probably). There will also be live music; multiple beer gardens; food from local culinary destinations like Juliana’s Pizza, Oddfellows, Seamore’s, and Westville; an afterparty; and a silent auction with a chance to win a DUMBO shopping spree and lots of other great prizes; and arts & crafts, a rock-climbing wall, and loads of other activities. Admission to the street fair is free, and all purchases and donations benefit two nearby schools: PS307 and The Dock Street Middle School.
