If you are lucky enough to have this Monday off for Columbus Day (speaking of, what’s up with that this year, my job?!), why not honor the victims of our colonialist past and head to Randall’s Island for its third annual Indigenous Peoples Celebration? The day-long affair starts with a 7am sunrise ceremony, but if that’s too early for you, there are plenty of speakers, dancers, singers, artists, and other performers who will take the stage at this free event that runs through 4pm.
