A storytelling bash to celebrate five years of TueNight

By

Most women’s media skews young. So whenTueNight launched five years ago, it set out to fix the glaring hole in the mediasphere that ignored smart, funny, mid-career, older-than-40 women. Their tagline, “Grown-ass lady storytelling,” sums up all they do online in their weekly newsletters and at their live events, where talented writers, editors, entrepreneurs, and generally bad-ass women share stories about everything from opting out of motherhood to being single to getting sober. (You know, real life stuff.) For their fifth anniversary bash on Tuesday, Oct. 23 they are gathering writers including Deborah Copaken and Dodai Stewart to read from their most popular essays during a night of storytelling at Invisible Dog. Tickets are $30 and proceeds benefit VoteRunLead, which trains women to run for office. All that, plus cake.
