Celebrate Haitian Day of the Dead at Pioneer Works

By

Here’s a new way to unwind at the end of a long week: A Fèt Gede, or Haitian Day of the Dead celebration, at Pioneer Works this Friday night, Nov. 2. A gede fest includes elaborately designed altars to honor those that have been lost, veves, or drawings to attract their spirits, traditional food and drink offerings, and sacred dances and polyrhythmic drumming, and this one will have it all, plus Vodou-inspired artwork, DJ sets and a full ceremony. The event starts at 7pm, and there is a $10 suggested donation to attend.
