Are you entertaining relatives or friends this week, and already thinking to yourself, WTF are we going to do together for X long days? Go to Staten Island! The NYC Winter Lantern Festival, one of the events on our December Kids Calendar, is at Snug Harbor Botanical Garden through January 6. Yes, it will involve an incredibly long trip to get there, first by train, then subway, then ferry, then bus or Lyft. But, it will be beautiful and magical when you arrive (or at least pretty enough to post a pic to your Instagram to prove you checked this holiday item off your bucket list). Tickets are $15-$23 and there are 3 time slots on weekdays, and 4 on weekends. Though the Groupon for this expired, many people left reviews and tips that would be helpful to read before you make the trip.
