Way back in my twenties, a group of friends and I had a standing appointment at a weekly pub quiz at Fiddlesticks in the West Village, and it was full of super competitive regulars and so much fun. The Monday night Tuff Enuf trivia series at Threes Brewing sounds like it could be a similar deal, as it runs in 5-week sessions and thus ensures that you’ll get to know some of the other teams before the run is up. That said, there’s no season commitment required, so this week might be a good week to get the lay of the land before you start drafting your team for the next session, which starts on February 11. No friends who’d inspire you to say “Regis, I’m going to use my lifeline”? No problem—individuals are welcome and can join teams who have less than six people and are looking for a ringer.
