Ring in the Year of the Pig

By

Last Sunday, some friends and I headed to Sunset Park to celebrate the Year of the Pig and had so much fun shooting confetti guns and taking in the spectacle of it all that I think we might hit up the Manhattan version of the Chinese New Year parade, which is the biggest in the city, this Sunday. Starting at 1pm, the parade starts at Mott and Canal Streets and winds its way through Chinatown, with an abundance of colorful costumes, firecrackers, marching bands, lion and dragon dancers, and general revelry to be a part of. Bring a camera for sure, and after things wind down, find a local spot to enjoy some soup dumplings and a beer or two, especially if you have Monday off.
