Ruth Reichl in Brooklyn Heights

By

It’s been a decade, but I still miss Gourmet, which which probably had more influence on my love of food and cooking than anything else. Luckily, the bygone magazine’s longtime editor in chief, Ruth Reichl, is a prolific memoirist and cookbook author, so we can all still reap the benefits of her uncommon voice and perspective. The latest opportunity to do this presents itself on Monday, when Reichl will be discussing her latest title, Save Me The Plums, at St. Ann’s Church on Monday night from 7-9pm. Tickets are $35, which includes your own copy of the book, which chronicles the ten years that Reichl spent at the helm of Gourmet during the period of time that food and restaurants exploded into an unprecedented level of significance within popular culture.
