Sunday in Brooklyn: Dragon Edition

By

Game of Thrones is back on Sunday for its final season, and there are related events and watch parties happening all over the city so you can mark the occasion with an appropriate degree of pomp and circumstance. A few here in Brooklyn caught my eye, like the Burn Them All Watch & Roast Party, which is free to attend, at Velvet. Starting at 7:30pm, Aliza Small and Orli Matlow are hosting a pre-show collection of roasts and toasts by people like The New York Times’ Sopan Deb, UCB’s Jon Bershad, and Rachel Pegram of The Week Of before the main event premiere screening at 9pm. If you don’t feel up to venturing into North Brooklyn, consider taking in the much-awaited premiere episode at Dekalb Market’s new event space, Dekalb Stage, which boasts a 180” projector, Sonos sound, themed cocktails like The Red Wedding and The Dragon Fire from the Understudy bar, and awesome snacks from Fletcher’s BBQ’s special GoT menu.
