Camp isn’t just for summer

By

Did your invite to the Met Gala get lost in the mail? No worries because the new Costume Institute show at the Metropolitan of Art opens today. “Camp: Notes on Fashion” will dive deep into the difficult-to-describe definition of “camp” and how it reflects on fashion history. Expect everyone you know to be obsessed with Susan Sontag (whose essay “Notes on Camp” inspired the show) this spring.

For something equally campy, but also hilarious, check out a performance of Mortified at Littlefield at 7pm. Billed as “a comic excavation of teen angst artifacts (journals, letters, poems, lyrics, home movies, stories and more) as shared by their original authors before total strangers,” the live show feels like listening to a real-life episode of Pen15. Listening to the stories will easily make you cringe, but also laugh since the embarrassment of being young becomes heartwarming as we get older.
