Take a tour of Gotham Green’s rooftop greenhouse

By

Spring is a good time—maybe the best, actually—to learn about organic farming and sustainable agriculture. Gotham Greens, the local produce company, has a rooftop garden at the Whole Foods in Gowanus, and gives free tours every week (weather permitting!) on the observation deck outside their greenhouse. You’ll learn about their process as well as get a chance to try the product. If you’re still hungry when you’re through, just take a seat at The Roof Cafe and Taproom, which has the second best grocery store view in the city. (Rivaling only Fairway in Red Hook, obvs.)
