Conquer the Museum Mile for free on Tuesday

By

On Tuesday, the iconic cultural institutions lining Fifth Avenue on the Upper East Side are hosting the ultimate night at the museum. Get ready to brave the trek uptown for the 41st annual Museum Mile Festival. From 6 to 9pm, eight museums, including the Met, the Guggenheim and the Jewish Museum, will be completely free for you to pop in as you please. The walk is part of the fun, too, with live music and art-making workshops along the way, and a voguing competition on the steps of the Met, one of the events commemorating NYC Pride this month. A word of warning, though: the festival is quite popular, so don’t be surprised if you end up waiting on line to get into your museum of choice. It’s worth it, I promise.
