Chamber music in the Catacombs

By

This Monday night, forgo your usual Netflix binge for something entirely new: a Baroque chamber music concert inside a catacomb! That’s what’s happening from 7:30 to 10:30pm at Green-Wood Cemetery, when Augusta McKay Lodge and her band Voyage Sonique will bring a new energy to a traditional form of music in a very unusual site. The concert is part of The Angel’s Share, a series of opera and chamber music performances taking place in June, September, and October in Green-Wood’s Catacombs, which aren’t normally open to the public. Tickets to Epilogues and Epitaphs are $85 for nonmembers, which includes a pre-concert sunset reception looking out over the cemetery’s incredible view. A few years back, a friend and I went to a different Green-Wood event featuring live music in the Catacombs and it was pretty amazing—check it out if you’re so inclined.
