There are people who have a ridiculous, iron-clad memory for movies, and can quote from any film easily. I, on the other hand, turn every movie conversation into a guessing game. (“You know, she was in that show, I think it was on Netflix…”) Unless we’re talking Weird Science. This absurd flick about two nerds who perform a Frankenstein-like operation and bring to a babe to life while wearing bras on their head has been seared into my brain, probably because I watched it so many times as a kid, I nearly wore out the VHS tape. If you too can recall an evil Chet promising Anthony Michael Hall “a nice, greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray,” you may want to revisit this John Hughes classic Monday at 8:30pm at Our Wicked Lady in Bushwick. It’s free and it’s on a roof, but if this is not your cup of nostalgic cinema, I get it. There are many more cult classics to choose from this month on our July outdoor movie calendar.
