It’s World Music Weekend at the Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival

We’re about halfway through the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival and so far it’s been an amazing summer! This weekend, BRIC is keeping the celebration going with a showcase of music from around the world—all for free!

On Friday, July 12, the annual Latin Alternative Music Conference comes to the Bandshell with a variety of talented Latinx musicians. Headlining the conference is Latin GRAMMY Award-winning Guatemalan singer/songwriter Gaby Moreno, who will be playing music from her forthcoming record Spangled with help from some special guests including NYC’s first all-women mariachi group Flor de Toloache and Mexican singer/guitarist Caloncho. Before Gaby, there will be opening sets from Mexican indie-folk singer El David Aguilar and Mexican chart-topping rock band Enjambre!

On Saturday, July 13, “The Golden Voice of Africa” Salif Keita returns to the Bandshell after last playing the festival in 2008. Opening the night will be djembe and conga virtuoso Courtnee Roze whose career has stretched from collaborations with Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, J Cole, and even Cirque de Soleil!

Come spend your weekend #AtTheBandshell for all these free shows; you’re not going to want to miss it!
