On Thursday, July 25, indie rock legends and an up-and-coming vocalist are set to kick off a weekend of great music at the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! FestivalBroken Social Scene makes a stop #AtTheBandshell while on their 2019 world tour, and opening the night is the London born and raised prodigy Nilüfer Yanya, who will showcase her genre defying talent.

On Friday, July 26, the GRAMMY Award-nominated Jidenna, who catapulted up the charts in 2015 with his hit “Classic Man,” makes his Bandshell debut. Known for his upbeat R&B, Jidenna looks to demonstrate the artistic depth that was showcased in his 2017 debut album, The Chief. Plus, Queens comes to Brooklyn as Anik Khan travels across boroughs with his fast-paced lyrics, and DJ MOMA provides the vibes.

On Saturday, July 27Compagnie Hervé KOUBI, led by French-Algerian choreographer Hervé Koubi, performs What the Day Owes to the Night. This piece features 12 French-Algerian and African dancers and combines capoeira, martial arts, hip hop, and contemporary styles. The use of movement and imagery drawing from Islamic architecture and Orientalist paintings creates a breath-taking experience you won’t want to miss.
