Multi-instrumentalist Laraaji, who specializes in piano, zither, and mbira, and has been making music for well over 40 years, will perform on Elsewhere’s rooftop on Tuesday, August 27. (If you’re wondering what a zither is, you can watch Laraaji’s Tiny Desk Concert and see for yourself. This is a mbira.) Composer and vocalist Gabrielle Herbst, who produces music under the name GABI, will open. Between the two of them, the evening promises serious music chops and an atmosphere more calm than raucous on a gorgeous rooftop. Doors open at 6pm and advance tickets are $27, including fees.
