I’ve officially reached the age where I know a Sunday afternoon boozy brunch means trouble for my Monday morning. But a Sunday afternoon cocktail festival is much classier, right? Let’s find out together at the New York Cocktail Expo on Aug. 18. Participating requires heading to Long Island City’s Melrose Ballroom, but it’ll all be worth it when you’re a few tastings in. Choose from two sessions — 3 to 5 pm or 7 to 9 pm — and work your way through samples of cocktails, spirits, beers and wines. Normally, you can get a general admission ticket for $65 or splurge on VIP access for $75, which includes an extra hour of booze and access to an after-party. But right now, they’re offering 50% off all tickets. I’ll drink to that!
